We miss you McQueen

"La fiesta más glamourosa del año" así publicó Vogue en su edición julio 2011, donde nos muestran el homenaje realizado en conmemoración a la muerte de daddy McQueen apenas a un año de su partida. El mismo se realizó en el evento más importante para el mundo de la moda, la gala del Metropolitan Costume Institute, celebrado en la ciudad de New York, el cual tuvo como tema para este año: "Alexander McQueen: savage the beauty". Creemos que en este punto no hace falta aclarar que morimos por ser invitadas a un evento como éste.

"The most glamorous party of the year" that's what Vogue public in its July 2011 edition, where they show us the tribute made in honor of daddy McQueen's death just one year after his going. The tribute was made in the most important event of the world of fashion, the gala of the Metropolian Costume Institute, celebrates in the city of New York, wich had as theme for this year: "Alexander McQueen: savage the beauty". At this point is no necessary to clarify that we are dying to be invited.

El homenaje transcurrió en una especie de galería donde se le mostraba al público algunas creaciones de daddy McQueen , en este punto debemos mencionar que el vestido usado por la Duquesa de Cambridge, Kate Middleton será expuesto en el palacio de Buckigham. A tal evento asistieron celebridades como Marc Jacobs, Gwyneth Paltrow, Penélope Cruz, Valentino Garavani, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Taylor Swift, Madonna, nuestra amada Blake Lively, entre otros. 

The tribute took place in a kind of galery where some of the creations of daddy McQueen were showed to the public, at this point we should mention that the dress worn by the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton it will be on display in Buckigham Palace. Also, this event was attended by celebrities such as Marc Jacobs, Gwyneth Paltrow, Penélope cruz, Valentino Garavani, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Taylor Swift, Madonna, our lovely Blake Lively, and others.

¿QUIÉN FUE DADDY McQUEEN? 


Lee Alexander McQueen, nació un 17 de marzo de 1969, en Londres, Inglaterra. El menor de seis hermanos, quien dejó el colegio a los 16 años (mal ejemplo daddy), ya que tenía en claro su futuro como diseñador.  McQueen se graduó en una prestigiosa escuela de diseño, donde alguno de sus egresados son John Galliano y Stella McCartney. Era homosexual y demostraba estar seguro de si mismo. Trabajó para marcas como Givenchy y Gucci, pero al mismo tiempo atendía su propia linea. Trágicamente McQueen deja el mundo un 11 de febrero de 2010, cometiendo suicidio en su propia residencia a los 40 años de edad. 


WHO WAS DADDY McQUEEN?


Lee Alexander McQueen was born in March 17th of 1969, in London, England. The youngest of six children, who left the school at 16 years (bad example daddy), had clear his intention to become a fashion designer. McQueen graduates in a prestigious design institute, where also John Galliano and Stella McCartney graduated. He was homosexual and proved to be self-confident. He worked for brands like Givenchy and Gucci, but at the same time he attended his own line. Tragically McQueen left the world on February 11th of 2010, he commits suicide in his own residence at 40 years old.
